What is the best way to contact BreathTrek?

Do you offer gift certificates? 

Not right now, but please check back soon. 

 

PADDLING

 

Can I bring my own kayak? 

On most trips we offer a “BYOB” (bring your own boat) rate. If you bring your own boat, you must also bring a class III lifejacket (PFD) and paddle. We can provide a paddle and or PFD if needed but we need to know before the day of the event. 

 

Is there a weight limit for kayaking? 

The companies that manufacture our kayaks have specified maximum capacities for their products. These capacities vary between brand and model but generally accommodate weights of 330 pounds or under.  If you or a guest you are bringing is over 330 pounds please reach out and we will accommodate the situation. 

 

How do I sign up for a tour or private session? 

The best way to register for our programs is via our online booking system.  We can also take a reservation via phone if you reach out with an email to BreathTrek@gmail.com. Be sure to leave your phone # and we will call you back with in 24 hours. 

 

How far in advance do I need to book a tour or lesson? 

Reservations should be made as early as possible since we are first-come-first-serve basis, but we will do our best to accommodate last minute plans.  

 

What is your cancelation policy? 

Full refund or reschedule with 14 days advance notice of your original reservation. 50% refund or reschedule with 7 days notice of your original reservation. No refund or reschedule will be given if you fail to show up for an event. Events go rain or shine. If BreathTrek cancels an event for any reason, we will give a full refund or reschedule.

 

What happens if it rains or the weather is bad? 

Safety is our number one priority and we will cancel programs if we determine that the conditions will be too dangerous for paddling. Unsafe conditions could include any sign of lightning or thunder, high winds, strong waves, or a small craft warning issued by the National Weather Service. If we cancel programs due to unsafe conditions, clients are entitled a 100% refund or reschedule. 

 

I have never been in a kayak? 

Great, we love when people try new things! We will teach you the basics before and during the trip.  

 

Should I book a private tour?

If you have a specific scheduling or group needs a private tour is best! It also opens up more locations we can paddle. 

 

Is there a minimum age for participation?

Children’s participation is at the discretion of the parents. Please keep in mind we only have adult boats and the trips are guided. We also offer private tours that may be more accommodating. 

 

The Day of your paddle

 

What time should I arrive? 

We ask that you arrive 15 minutes before the start of the trip. Please try to be prompt so you don’t hold up the trip, remember there are other people on the paddle. If you are running late, please call us at the number provided in the registration confirmation.

 

Is there a space on shore to leave a bag, change clothes, or use a bathroom?

No. Unfortunately each location is different and we do not always have the ability to accommodate so please come prepared to paddle.  We will have dry bags that you can store a phone or keys safely. 

 

Do I need any special clothing or gear?

We ask that you bring water, hat, sunscreen, and sunglasses(old pair). You will need clothes and footwear that can get wet. We ask you to stay away from 100% cotton, anything synthetic will dry much faster. Footwear must be worn so if you do not have “water shoes” an old pair of running shoes will do fine. It is always smart to have a set of dry clothes waiting for your return. 

 

PRIVACY POLICY

 

We will collect and use personal information solely with the objective of fulfilling those purposes specified by us and for other compatible purposes, unless we obtain the consent of the individual concerned or as required by law.

 

We will only retain personal information as long as necessary for the fulfillment of those purposes.
